YEAR 2000 MINDANAO CRISIS HEIGHTENS
Abu Sayyaf atrocities and terrorism became prime menace in the country. No effective solution seen.
The Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) is the most notorious Muslim bandit group composed of Lost Command units or
factions whose terroristic activities are condemned even by fellow Muslims. They are more fierce and
ruthless than the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
More and more casualties — a hostage priest died a cruel death in the hands of the Abu Sayyaf due
to a military rescue attempt. Innocent civilians were kidnapped, robbed, maltreated, and women were raped
and killed. Lives and properties destroyed.
Chaos, poverty, confusion, fear, and mourning reign. Where is peace?
Revelation 12:12 "Woe to the inhabiters of the earth ... for the devil is come down unto you having
